The Codex
Rules, in full.
Every rule is numbered, permalinked, and carries the consequence for breaking it. Filter from the rail, or press ⌘K anywhere.
How points work
Breaking a rule adds points based on its severity above. Points push you through the tiers below, and age off 60 days after they're issued. A Critical rule suspends you immediately, no matter your total.
Before you play
What it takes to be here. None of this is gameplay yet — just the basics.
Be 16 or older
CriticalSeverity: Critical. Suspension — appeal after 30 days. This community is built around immersive roleplay. You must be at least 16 to play here — no exceptions, no “I'm almost 16.” Underage accounts are removed on sight.
Use a clear, working mic
Guideline–MinorSeverity: Guideline to Minor. Coaching, not a ban.Roleplay here is voice-first — your character takes part in scenes by talking. A mic that cuts out, crackles, or sits at a whisper pulls everyone in the scene out of it, so a clear working mic isn't optional. Sort it before you connect.
A scene only works if people can actually hear each other.
Give your character a real name
MinorSeverity: Minor. 1-day ban.Your character is a person living in the city, so give them a name a real person could have. It also can't break the Terms of Service of the platforms we play on.
Fine: Marcus Bell, Yuki Tanaka, Frank Delgado.
Not this: xX_Sniper420_Xx, “Hugh Jass,” or anything slur-adjacent.
Don't camp AFK
Guideline–MinorSeverity: Guideline to Minor. Coaching, not a ban.Don't park your character in the world and walk away for long stretches — it ties up a slot and leaves your character standing around like a prop. If you need to step away for a while, log off. What counts as “extended” is up to staff.
Keep our spaces healthy
SevereSeverity: Severe. 7–14-day ban.We care about what happens in our community — in-game, on the site, on the forums, and in our Discord. Toxicity in those spaces — harassment, targeted abuse, or dragging in drama to stir people up — can get you removed at any time.
We're not here to police your personal accounts elsewhere. This is about keeping our own house healthy, not watching what you do on the rest of the internet.
Reports & enforcement
When something goes wrong, here's how it's handled.
Report a player in our Discord
GuidelineSeverity: Guideline. Coaching, not a ban.Open a player-report ticket in our Discord. Include the other player's ID, a short description of what happened, and a clip or screenshot if you have one — specific beats vague every time.
In practice: “ID 47 — VDM'd me at the docks, no interaction beforehand, clip attached.”
Never break a live scene to file it. Play it out, then open the ticket once things settle.
Staff act with or without a report
GuidelineSeverity: Guideline. Coaching, not a ban.A report helps, but it isn't required. Staff watch for rule-breaks and step in on their own — so “no one reported me” isn't a defence. Penalties below are starting points; every case is judged on what actually happened, and intent and context matter.
Staying in character
The whole server is one ongoing story. Most of these rules keep it from breaking.
Stay in character at all times
MinorSeverity: Minor. 1-day ban.If something feels off, roleplay it out and report it afterward — don't stop the scene to argue rules in chat. Breaking character to call someone out ruins the moment for everyone present, and it doesn't get the issue resolved any faster.
Someone runs you over out of nowhere.
Not this: type “that's VDM, reported” in chat and stand there.
This: panic, crawl for cover, call 911 — then grab their ID and file the report once the scene settles.
/OOC is an emergency exit
MinorSeverity: Minor. 1-day ban.Out-of-character chat is only for technical problems that genuinely stop your roleplay and can't wait for a ticket — not for banter or questions.
Fine: “OOC — I'm stuck in the map geometry and can't move.”
Not this: “OOC — nice shot lol” or “OOC — who's at the bank?”
Play restarts straight
MinorSeverity: Minor. 1-day ban.A restart coming up doesn't lower the stakes. Don't let scenes get silly or reckless in the last few minutes “because it's restarting anyway” — play it like any other moment.
No loot-boxing
MinorSeverity: Minor. 1-day ban.“Looting” is taking items off another player. You can only do it as part of real roleplay — there has to be a scene around it, not just a grab. Same goes for vehicle inventories: emptying a trunk or taking car parts needs a scene around it too.
Not this: running up to a downed body and silently emptying their pockets.
This: robbing someone at gunpoint with dialogue, demands, and tension.
Keep music DMCA-safe
ModerateSeverity: Moderate. 3-day ban.Be careful what you play out loud — over an in-game radio, on stream, or through your mic. Copyrighted or licensed music can hit you, or anyone streaming the scene, with a DMCA strike or a channel suspension. That risk lands on real people, not characters.
Stick to DMCA-safe or cleared music only: in-game station music, royalty-free tracks, or anything you actually hold the rights to. If you're not sure a song is safe, don't play it.
Metagaming & powergaming
What your character is allowed to know, and what they're allowed to do.
No metagaming
CriticalSeverity: Critical. Suspension — appeal after 30 days.Your character only knows what they learned in-game. Using information from a stream, a Discord channel, or OOC chat to shape your in-game choices is metagaming. Because it quietly breaks trust across the whole server, we treat it as our most serious violation.
You're watching a friend's stream and see a rival gang setting up an ambush at the docks.
Not this: suddenly avoiding the docks, or showing up with backup you “happened” to bring. Your character had no way to know — so neither do you.
No powergaming / fail RP
Minor–ModerateSeverity: Minor to Moderate. 1-day ban.Powergaming is forcing an outcome the other person can't react to, or ignoring how the world realistically works to gain an edge. Roleplay is a two-way scene — give people room to respond. Lean on /me as much as you can; it's what turns an action into a scene.
Not this: /me knocks you out, ties you up, and takes your phone — all in one move, no chance to react.
This: break it into beats — threaten, let them respond, then act — so the scene actually plays out.
This also covers:
Calling out, organising, or naming locations while you're downed.
Rushing the fastest way to make money instead of roleplaying the activity.
Skipping the “put in vehicle” command, or escorting people on foot alongside a vehicle.
Repeatedly driving at unrealistic speeds with no in-character reason.
Government employees ignoring road laws.
Holding spawn-in points in a way that forces other players to a black screen.
Don't min-max the city
Minor–ModerateSeverity: Minor to Moderate. 1-day ban. This is a world to live in, not a game to beat. Chasing the most efficient money or XP loop, hopping between activities just for the best payout, or using a mechanic to skip the roleplay around it all drain the scene for everyone. Play your character's life, not the spreadsheet.
Not this: running the same crafting loop on repeat in silence because it's the fastest cash.
This: doing that same job with a reason and the people around you — the money comes out of the roleplay, it isn't the point of it.
Combat & death
Violence is allowed, but it has to be earned. These rules make death mean something.
No RDM / VDM
Moderate–SevereSeverity: Moderate to Severe. 3-day ban.RDM (Random Death Match) and VDM (Vehicle Death Match) mean attacking someone with no story behind it. There has to be roleplay and some form of initiation before shots are fired or cars become weapons.
RDM: gunning down a stranger at the gas station because you're bored.
Not RDM: shooting a rival after a feud that's been building all night, with clear initiation.
No attacking a player or group with no build-up.
No using a vehicle to kill or knock someone out without a reason or initiation.
No ramming other vehicles at high speed (100+).
New Life Rule (NLR)
ModerateSeverity: Moderate. 3-day ban. When you're downed and respawn at the hospital, your character forgets the moments that led to going down. That death has weight — you don't come back for round two.
You're killed in a shootout and respawn at the hospital. Your character doesn't remember who shot them and doesn't go hunting for payback — that scene is closed for you.
You can't respawn if you've been told police or EMS are on the way to your scene.
While you're down, try to contact medical help of some kind.
Value your life (NVL)
ModerateSeverity: Moderate. 3-day ban.Play like your life is real and worth protecting. When you're at gunpoint or facing serious harm, act like it.
Four armed people tell you to get on the ground. Pulling a pistol to 1v4 them “because my character's fearless” is NVL. A real person complies and looks for a smarter way out.
No staged shootouts at the PD or hospital.
Don't provoke gangs, police, or armed people with no in-character reason.
Don't insert yourself into a shootout between two groups, or between a group and the police.
Fear of consequence is what makes crime RP mean something.
Down means down
Minor–ModerateSeverity: Minor to Moderate. 1-day ban.Once you're down, you're down. You have no inventory access while downed — you can't drop items. Ongoing scenes keep going, but if you get revived (by EMS or a bystander), you can't re-engage the scene that took you down.
Crime
A huge part of the city — it just has to stay roleplay-driven and inside the group limits.
Six-player cap on PvP crime
ModerateSeverity: Moderate. 3-day ban.Any criminal group setting out to do PvP activity is capped at 6 players at a time. This keeps fights easy to follow and stops scenes from becoming a 20-person pile-on. Pick roleplayers over shooters and grinders — pure gunplay over story isn't what we're here for.
Planning a store robbery? Six is your ceiling for everyone going hands-on — and that includes the lookout on the corner and the voice on the radio. If they're feeding you info, they count toward the six.
Acting as a lookout or relaying info over radio counts you as part of the scenario.
Exception: if your group of 6 takes hostile action against a group larger than 6, everyone involved is flagged into that scene and can roleplay it out naturally.
Prison breaks & transport
ModerateSeverity: Moderate. 3-day ban. When someone's taken into custody, a second group of 6 attempting a break can't step in until the prison transport actually begins. Rushing it early — with small weapons or no real plan — counts as not valuing your life. Smuggling items into prison is fine by in-game means, but you need a logical roleplay reason to risk your life doing it.
Not this: hitting them while they're still being processed inside the station — that's too early.
This: waiting until the transport vehicle actually leaves the station before your group moves.
Heist conduct
ModerateSeverity: Moderate. 3-day ban.Once a heist is underway, it belongs to the people running it. Don't crash someone else's, and don't reset your own.
No resupplying once police have arrived.
Don't interfere with another party's heist once it has started.
Not this: a crew is mid-robbery with police on scene, and your unrelated group rolls up to start your own thing or jump into theirs.
This: let their heist play out, and pick a different time and place for yours.
Arrests & restarts
ModerateSeverity: Moderate. 3-day ban.If you're being processed — in transport or at the station — when a restart hits, turn yourself back in once you're back in the server. A restart isn't a get-out-of-jail card.
Safe zones
The hospital has to stay safe, or nobody could heal. That's why it's a green zone.
Don't start conflict in a green zone
Minor–ModerateSeverity: Minor to Moderate. 1-day ban.No camping the hospital or kicking off a fight inside it — unless it's the natural continuation of roleplay happening right now. A grudge from earlier in the day doesn't count.
Not this: posting up outside the ER to clip a rival the moment they get dropped off.
Don't shelter in a green zone to escape
Minor–ModerateSeverity: Minor to Moderate. 1-day ban.You also can't run into the green zone to dodge an active situation or escape the consequences of something you did outside it — unless, again, it's part of one natural ongoing scene.
Not this: robbing a bank and sprinting to the hospital to “reset.” The consequences follow you in.
Characters
We keep the city grounded. A few character types need staff approval, and some outcomes are permanent.
Keep your characters separate
Minor–ModerateSeverity: Minor to Moderate. 1-day ban. Each of your characters lives their own life. Don't pull one character into another's storyline, group, or circle of friends — and don't use what one of them knows to help the other. It's a different life, with different people in it.
Not this: your character “Mike” is wrapped up in a storyline, and you bring in “Tony,” who joins the same group, befriends the same people, or acts on what Mike learned.
This: give each character their own friends, their own story, and their own problems — kept fully apart.
No laundering between your own characters
ModerateSeverity: Moderate. 3-day ban.You can't move funds, properties, vehicles, or owned items from one of your characters to another — not directly, not through a friend or business account, and not from a dead character to a new one.
No supernatural characters
Minor–ModerateSeverity: Minor to Moderate. 1-day ban.No vampires, ghosts, sasquatches, aliens, androids, gods, magical beings, talking animals, witches, warlocks, or anything like them — not unless you've checked with staff and gotten the okay first. It keeps the world believable for everyone in it.
A character who simply believes they're one of these — but is actually just a human underneath — is completely fine.
Not this: a character who actually has powers, can't be killed normally, or isn't human.
This: a character who's convinced they're a vampire — sleeps in a coffin, avoids sunlight — but is just a regular person underneath.
Playing a serial killer
Minor–ModerateSeverity: Minor to Moderate. 1-day ban.A serial-killer character is a serious commitment, not a free pass to go kill people — check with staff before you play one. You'll need a real story behind it: a motive, a method, and a clear ending in mind, including how it plays out if your character gets caught. If they're caught and convicted, there's no parole. A thin “I'm a killer” character with no story will get shut down.
Permanent death is permanent
Minor–ModerateSeverity: Minor to Moderate. 1-day ban.If your character dies or is pronounced dead by doctors, they're gone for good. No resurrections, revivals, or voodoo rituals — and no quietly bringing them back as the same person under a new name. Delete the character; logging back in on them counts as bringing them back.
No suicidal roleplay
ModerateSeverity: Moderate. 3-day ban.Suicide and suicidal roleplay aren't permitted here, under any circumstances.
This rule is about in-character scenes. If you're going through something real, please reach out to someone you trust — that matters more than anything in the city.
No underage characters
ModerateSeverity: Moderate. 3-day ban.Every character must be 18 or older. This is a hard line — no exceptions and no “young-looking adult” workarounds.
Decency & respect
Play hard, but never at someone's real-life expense.
Harassment is on you, not your character
SevereSeverity: Severe. 7–14-day ban.Your character can be a villain. You can't be cruel to a real person. Slurs, sexual harassment, targeted abuse, or anything that crosses from in-character conflict into hurting the actual person behind the screen is harassment — and “it's my character” is never a defence.
Fine: your character threatens, robs, or genuinely hates another character in the story.
Not this: using an in-character conflict as cover to throw slurs, sexual comments, or real-life jabs at the player.
A serious world only works if people feel safe being in it.
No sexual content
SevereSeverity: Severe. 7–14-day ban.Sexual content isn't part of roleplay here — not in voice, text, or scene. Characters can have relationships, but the moment anything turns sexual, the scene cuts away. Don't play out the lead-up.
Anything involving a non-consenting player, or anything predatory, is dealt with on sight and goes well beyond the penalty chart.
Cheats & exploits
A hard line. Don't bring tools or tricks that give you an edge.
No cheats, modified files, or exploits
CriticalSeverity: Critical. Suspension — appeal after 30 days.No cheats, no modified game files, no injectors or unauthorised mods, and no exploiting bugs or broken mechanics for an edge. This one's simple: don't. It's an instant problem and it breaks the game for everyone around you.
Third-party programs count. If it overlays or plays the game for you, it's a cheat — external crosshairs are the big one.
Found a bug? Don't use it — report it in Discord.
This is our reality
Less a rule, more the spirit of the place — and a good note to end on.
This is our reality
GuidelineSeverity: Guideline. Coaching, not a ban.The city is its own world — not a mirror of the real one. Don't drag the outside world into it: real-world current events, politics, news, or off-screen drama. Your character lives here, in this reality — leave the rest at the door.
Keep the story inside the world we've all built together. That's what makes it an escape worth logging into.
